Bird Feeding Tips
Feeding birds is one of the most enjoyable pastimes, and also one of the easiest....
Here are some tips to keep in mind when setting up any feeders in your yard. We'll add more as we think of them!
1. Keep your bird feeders full all year 'round. You will soon be marking the seasons by which birds are in your yard!
2. Place feeders in a native landscape that has a healthy supply of trees and shrubs, or "cover"... the birds will feed more often and stay longer.
3. Birds are more likely to frequent your feeding stations that always have a consistent supply of water.
4. Attract more birds by providing a variety of different feeders, such as tube feeders, suet feeders and Nyjer or thistle feeders.
5. Locate feeders at different levels to avoid over crowding and attract the greatest variety of species.
6. Sunflower by itself, attracts the widest variety of birds. Our #2 sunflower contains 3 types of sunflower, is 90% "hearts" meaning less shells on the ground, and is preferred by many birds in our yards, both at the shop and home!
