Rodenticides are not the answer. They poison the earth that our children walk on, too.Another positive for secondary poisoning. It should no longer be surprising to us after EVERY single bird we have sent out to be tested for anticoagulant rodenticides results positive for Brodifacoum, one of the ingredients for Second Generation Anticoagulant Rodenticides (SGARS). You read that right, 100%. This should be SHOCKING but unfortunately, this has become the norm. Why? because this deadly poison is still legally being used in our State as a bandaid fix to rodent issues. This method is the top choice for Pest Management Companies because the results are fatal. Problem is, the results are FATAL to all that ingest it. As fatal as it is, it does not solve the problem unless continuously applied which means it continuously affects more than the rats or mice. Killing more and more non-targeted victims. Please understand your options before choosing poisons that have no way of targeting the intended nuisance. Do your own homework and learn about Integrated Pest Management. Also, write your legislators now to let them know that this issue matters to you. Gruesome, but we need to understand that rodenticides are NOT the answer.DID YOU KNOW that the US EPA requires that Second Generation Anticoagulant Rodenticide poisons be purchased in quantities of;
8 Pounds minimum for Agricultural Management
16 Pounds minimum for Pest Control Companies

The EPA prohibits everyday consumers from purchasing SGARS but has no regulations in place or ways to enforce that these dangerous poisons be purchased by said "professionals". Anyone can order these in the large (minimum) quantities online.

These dangerous ingredients, brodifacoum, bromadiolone, difenacoum, and difethiolone might just be sitting in your neighbors basement or garage, unregulated, uncovered, un-secure, posing great risk to all who come in contact with it at the tune of 8 or 16 POUNDS minimum.

It is no wonder why so many of our wild predators are dying.

This upcoming year, 2023, we have the chance to let our legislators know that we do not approve. Please write your legislators and ask them to support a bill to BAN SECOND GENERATION ANTICOAGULANT RODENTICIDE POISONS IN CT!

Enough is enough already. Not another life of a non-targeted victim should be lost because of the use of such a dangerous concoction of POISONS that can not be applied in a way to only affect the intended target.
