We’re losing way too many birds to window collision – we have several great products that can help!

The prismatic material used in each Window Gem refracts sunlight into a kaleidoscope of changing colors, which birds eyes are sensitive to. As birds fly near windows with Window Gems installed on the outside, they see the shifting light, turn and avoid hitting the glass.

Window Gems Window Clings also physically break up reflections on the surface of the glass, no matter what side of the house they are on (even in shade). The textured lines embossed in one side of the vinyl create a pattern that is very different from the smooth window, alerting the bird to veer away.

FAQs

Window Gems always stick to clean glass. If there is dust, oil, or water on the glass, make sure you clean it up first.

If it’s cold out (lower than 55 degrees), soften up your Window Gems by dipping them in a bowl of hot water and apply one at a time, immediately.

Make sure you apply the Gems with the smooth side on the glass. When you feel a Gem, you will see one side is textured and one is smooth.

Anytime sunlight shines through a Window Gem, it will act like a prism and turn that part of the sunbeam into a rainbow. In the northern hemisphere, you will get the best rainbows on east, south, or west facing windows.

Gems work on north facing windows, as well, by breaking up the ambient light.

Spacing advice: 

Good: 12″-18″ spacing

Better: 8″-10″ spacing

Best: 4″ x 2″ grid
