This bird bath de-icer is one of the best on the market. We’ve been using one in the backyard at the shop for years. Do not be fooled by flimsy aluminum foil heaters, this is the real deal.
In order to get electricity to any de-icer, always make sure your bath is as close to your outdoor electric plug as possible and use as thick an extension cord as you can find to make sure the electricity gets to the unit. Look for a rating of 14, 12 or 10. Those are thick cords.
We wind the extension cord around to pedestal of the bath twice to secure the Bird Bath De-Icer, and we use a Cord Connect to protect the plugs (extension cord to De-Icer).
